Fishing Reports

After a productive spring season, the summer has offered plenty of opportunuties to get a mixed bag limit.  In June, we started live lining for the schoolie stripers along with drifting for flounder.  Both were productive with nice limits of striper and some real nice flounder coming over the side, some up to 26".  This action lasted until about the middle of July for the striper, the flounder bite continues and should be good for at least another 3 weeks.  The Spanish mackeral have showed up along with a good number of 2-4 lb blue fish.  We usually troll small spoons behind diving planers for these fish and the action is fast and furious!! The bottom fishing bite has been hit or miss with the perch and croaker, however, the jumbo spot have shown up in good numbers and are biting daily.  The fish are close which means more fishing time and less running time to get on the pullage you are looking for.

The fall Trophy Striper run is right around the corner.  Dates are starting to fill up for late November and December.  Book your trip now to ensure your trip of a lifetime.  If trolling is not your game, late September and October usually hold some real nice fish by using live spot for bait.  Dates are available for these trips as well.

Finally, I have decided to head back to Virginia Beach this winter from early Jan-Feb.  Here we will be fishing for the same Trophy Striper.  These fish all bunch up and just hang out off the coast of Virginia all winter.  Each angler is allowed to keep 2 fish over 28" along with the Captain and mate.  This means that you better bring a big cooler to hold all those giant fillets after a day of fishing.

I look forward to fishing with all of you and puting you on a trip to remember.

Capt. Kyle

The 2009 trophy rock fish season is underway.  Although it has started off slow, we still managed our party limits on every trip to date.  The action has picked up with good numbers of fish in the mid to up 30 inch range being caught.  We have not seen any real giants yet, but have managed to pull 3 fish over the side over 25 lbs with one being over 30 lbs.  These fish should be around for a few more weeks and there are still open dates to get out there and get your hands on one like below.  Just give me a call for special rates and the open dates.

Wow!!!!  The fishing is just getting better!!  We fished this past weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.  It took a total of just under 2 hours to get our limit of 6 fish on both days together.  On Saturday we departed port around 6 a.m. and were setting lines around 7.  By 8:30 a.m. the last rod came back into the boat and we headed back to port with the crew having tired arms and smiling faces!!  The final count for the hour of fishing we did on this day was 12 bites and 9 trophy stripers boated.  Sunday was the same story.  We departed port around the same time and were setting lines again around 7.  This time it took us til 8:50 to get our limit.  We soon pulled rods after that and headed to port.  The weather was the reason why we cut both trips short.  Other wise, we would have done some catch and release for a few more hours.

There are only 15 days left in the Maryland 2008 striper season.  With fishing this good, you do not want to miss out!!!!  Most fish caught are at the 40" mark or better.  This is a really good chance at "bubba"!!  You can't catch him if you are not out on the water!!  Tight lines and "fishful" thinking until the next outing.

The excellent fishing continues with some of the best fishing I have seen in years.  We are departing from port most days around 6 a.m. and have a limit in the boat before 8.  Some days it takes a little longer, but we still have a steady pick at these trophy stripers.  Most days we get our crew limit early, then leave the "boat fish" open for bubba while we do some catch and release on some stripers that are ranging from 35-44 inches.  Citation fish (fish over 40") are being caught everyday and several a day at that.  There is only 25 days left in the Maryland striper season so don't miss out on your chance at catching "bubba".  When the Maryland season goes out, we will move the boat to Virginia Beach where we will fish for these same fish during Jan. and Feb.  This is a trip you really don't want to miss out on.  Everyone on the boat is allowed 2 stripers over 28" during this season, even the captain!!  This makes for some nice striper fillets to get you through the winter.  I am looking forward to putting you and your party on some of the best fishing there is to offer.

The fall trophy stripers are here in full swing.  These heavy fish are being caught in great numbers and are close to port.  Lately we have been departing port at 6 a.m. to head to the fishing grounds.  Most days we don't even have all of our spread out before we have at least one fish on.  Some days the fishing is so good that we have our limit before getting the spread out.  Generally we fill the box with the party''s limit and then leave the "boat fish" open while we search for bubba.

Last Thursday, Nov. 20th, we hooked into 2 "bubbas".  One was a 47" 40 pound pig, while the other weighed in at 50" 50 pounds.  What a beautiful fish!!  The fishing will continue through the end of December for Maryland waters.  Trips are still available for your chance at "bubba".  Don't miss out!

January we will be moving the boat to Virginia Beach to fish for the trophy stripers along the Virginia Beach shores.  We will be these waters from Jan 2-the end of Feb.  Our goals on these trips are to put you on some of the best fishing there is for the stripers.  We target these fish either by trolling a 6 rod spread or by light tackle jigging.  On these trips the limits are a little different.  Everyone on board is allowed 2 fish over 28", this makes for a lot of meat for the winter.  We are now booking trips at a cost of $600 for a 6 hour trip for up to 4 people.  Don't miss out on all the fun!
